🀄 Learn American Mahjong — Sunday Edition
Sunday, October 18 & Sunday, October 25
9:00–11:30 AM both days required
$100 per person for both days
This two-day beginner lesson gives you time to learn the game, practice what you've learned, and come back the following week ready to build on it.
We'll cover the fundamentals you need to actually sit down and play, including:
How the NMJL card works
Understanding the tiles and suits
The rules of American Mahjong
How to read and build a hand
The Charleston
Calling, passing, and discarding
Picking a hand and making decisions during play
Practice hands and gameplay
The questions that inevitably pop up once you start playing!
You'll have time between classes to let everything sink in, then we'll pick back up on October 25th and keep building your confidence at the table.
🀄 A Bonus for Sunday Students!
After class on Sunday, October 25th, you can stick around and join the Guided & Open Play session after lunch if you'd like!
It's a great opportunity to practice what you just learned and meet people in your community that you can start a home game with.
Guided Play after class is optional. It is free for my students and runs from 1-4pm
A Few Things to Know
Both class sessions are required. Please make sure you can attend both October 18th and October 25th from 9:00–11:30 AM before booking.
Your lesson includes the materials you'll need to learn and practice American Mahjong for use during class.
No previous Mahjong experience is necessary.
Come ready to learn, play, ask questions, and hopefully leave with some new Mahjong friends.
