🀄 Learn American Mahjong — Evening Edition

Ready to learn American Mahjong and join in on all the fun everyone is having?

This two-day beginner lesson gives you time to learn the game, practice what you've learned, and come back the following evening ready to build on it.

We'll cover the fundamentals you need to actually sit down and play, including:

• How the NMJL card works

• Understanding the tiles and suits

• The rules of American Mahjong

• How to read and build a hand

• The Charleston

• Calling, passing, and discarding

• Picking a hand and making decisions during play

• Practice hands and gameplay

• The questions that inevitably pop up once you start playing!

You'll have time between classes to let everything sink in, then we'll pick back up on October 6th and keep building your confidence at the table.

A Few Things to Know

Both class sessions are required. Please make sure you can attend both October 5th and October 6th from 5:00–7:30 PM before booking.

Your lesson includes the materials you'll need to learn American Mahjong for use during class.

No previous Mahjong experience is necessary.

Come ready to learn, play, ask questions, and hopefully leave with some new Mahjong friends.
